Are you a passionate and experienced Year 5 Teacher ready to make a positive impact in the classroom? Rotherwood Education are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-supported primary school in Haslingden. This is a full-time maternity cover position for approximately one year, starting on 27th April 2026, with a handover week alongside the current postholder until Monday 4th May.

- Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 (depending on experience)
About the Role
You will be responsible for teaching a Year 5 class, delivering engaging and high-quality lessons that support pupils’ academic progress and personal development. The handover period at the start of the role will allow you to settle in, gain a thorough understanding of routines, planning, and pupils’ needs, ensuring a smooth transition. This role is ideal for an experienced teacher who enjoys working in a supportive, collaborative school environment and is committed to helping pupils reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Planning and delivering engaging lessons in line with the Year 5 curriculum
- Supporting pupils with varying learning needs, including SEND and EAL
- Managing behaviour effectively to create a positive learning environment

- Differentiating learning to meet the needs of all learners

The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE
- Have recent experience teaching in Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 5
- Demonstrate strong classroom and behaviour management skills

- Be flexible, proactive, and a strong team player
