School Administrator
Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for an experienced and organised School Administrator to join a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Nelson area.
This is a full-time position, working Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 3:30pm, starting in September 2026.
The role is ongoing and offers the opportunity to become a valued member of the school's administrative team.
Position Details
Rate of Pay: £12.71 - £15.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
About the Role
- Provide efficient administrative support to the school office, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of administrative functions.
- Act as the first point of contact for parents, visitors and external agencies, providing a professional and welcoming service.
- Manage pupil records, attendance and admissions using school management systems.
- Maintain accurate records and handle confidential information in line with GDPR requirements.
- Support the Senior Leadership Team with general administration, correspondence and document preparation.
- Answer telephone and email enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Assist with maintaining safeguarding and personnel records where required.
- Carry out general office duties including filing, photocopying, data entry and ordering supplies.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have previous experience working in a busy school office or similar educational setting.
- Have essential experience using Arbor, SIMS and Class Charts.
- Be confident using Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Have excellent communication and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- Be professional, approachable and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a good understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding and GDPR within a school environment.
- Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Provide details of two recent references covering the last five years of employment.
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one as part of the registration process.
- Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy all compliance checks.
