Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join a well-established and supportive Primary School in the Nelson area. The role is full-time, 5 days per week, supporting pupils within a Year 1 class, and is due to start in September 2026 on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Position Details:
- Location: Nelson, Lancashire
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract Type: Full-Time, 12-Month Fixed-Term Contract
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:15am - 3:35pm (Monday, Tuesday and Friday), 8:15am - 4:20pm (Wednesday), 8:15am - 4:05pm (Thursday), with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day
- Daily Rate: £80 - £95 per day (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
- Support teaching and learning within a Year 1 classroom.
- Deliver phonics interventions and support pupils in developing early reading and writing skills.
- Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning objectives.
- Assist the class teacher with the preparation of resources and classroom activities.
- Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development.
- Establish positive and constructive relationships with pupils, parents and carers.
- Support the use of ICT in learning.
