Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive Primary School in the Burnley area. The role is part-time, working Thursdays and Fridays, and is due to start in September 2026 on a fixed-term contract for the full academic year.
Position Details:
- Location: Burnley, Lancashire
- Start Date: September 2026
- Contract Type: Part-Time (Thursdays & Fridays), Fixed-Term Contract until July 2027
- Daily Rate: £168.80 – £215.68 per day (dependant on experience)
About the Role:
- Teach a Year 2 class, delivering engaging and inspiring lessons in line with the Key Stage 1 curriculum.
- Plan, prepare and assess learning to ensure pupils make strong academic and personal progress.
- Create a positive, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment where all children can thrive.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff and parents to promote pupil achievement and wellbeing.
- Use a range of teaching strategies to meet the needs of all learners and encourage active participation.
- Maintain high expectations for behaviour, learning and achievement.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support school policies and procedures.
- Commit to the role for the full academic year to provide consistency and continuity for pupils.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification.
- Have experience teaching within Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2.
- Be confident in planning and delivering creative and engaging lessons.
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Be committed to helping all pupils reach their full potential.
- Be committed to the safeguarding and welfare of children and young people.
- Provide details of the latest two references, covering the last five years' work history.
- Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.
- Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several compliance checks.
- Be able to commit to the position for the full duration of the fixed-term contract.
