Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and reliable Site Supervisor to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Burnley area. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, and is due to start in September 2026. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced site or premises professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure and well-presented school environment.

- Hourly Rate: £13.47 – £14.59 per hour (dependant on experience)
About the Role
- Oversee the day-to-day management of the school site, ensuring the premises remain safe, secure and well maintained.
- Supervise and organise the work of the caretaking and cleaning team.
- Act as a keyholder, carrying out opening and closing procedures and responding to emergency call-outs where required.
- Carry out routine maintenance, first-line repairs and basic DIY tasks.
- Monitor maintenance issues, arrange contractors where necessary and oversee completed works.
- Ensure the heating, lighting and other building systems are operating efficiently.
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the school site and ensure adequate supplies are available.
- Prepare the premises for school events, lettings and extracurricular activities.
- Monitor health and safety compliance, carrying out routine site checks and ensuring the school meets statutory requirements.
- Support the management of site budgets, stock and inventory.
The Ideal Candidate Will
- Have previous experience in a Site Supervisor, Caretaker or Premises Management role, ideally within a school environment.
- Have practical maintenance and DIY skills across a range of building repairs.
- Have experience supervising caretaking or cleaning staff.
- Have a good understanding of health and safety legislation and site security procedures.
- Be organised, proactive and able to manage a varied workload.
- Have excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
- Provide details of the latest two references, covering the last five years' work history.
- Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.
- Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several compliance checks.
