Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic Geography Teacher (Maternity Cover) to join a well-established and supportive secondary school in the Burnley area. This role is 4 days per week, and due to start in May ongoing for 9 months. This is an excellent chance to teach Geography across Key Stages 3 and 4 in a school that values inclusive teaching, academic excellence, and professional development.
Position Details:
- Location: Burnley, Lancashire
- Start Date: May, ongoing for 9 months
- Contract Type: Part-time, 4 days per week
- Daily Rate: £168 – £215 per day
About the Role:
- Deliver engaging and inspiring Geography lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Plan and prepare high-quality lessons tailored to a range of learning abilities
- Monitor and support student progress through meaningful assessment and feedback
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and departmental initiatives
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or an equivalent teaching qualification
- Have strong subject knowledge in Geography (KS3 & KS4)
- Have an Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update Service
- Be confident in planning and delivering creative and inclusive lessons
- Demonstrate excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Be committed to inspiring young people and improving outcomes for all learners
- Adhere to safeguarding policies and promote student wellbeing
