Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and experienced Reset Room Supervisor to work on a part-time basis in a supportive secondary school in the Burnley area.

This is an ongoing role starting ASAP, offering the opportunity to become an integral part of the school's pastoral and behaviour support provision.

The successful candidate will play an important role in supporting pupils who require time away from the classroom to reset, regulate their emotions and prepare to return to learning. The ideal candidate will be calm, patient and confident in managing challenging behaviour while building positive and respectful relationships with young people.

The Role

The successful Reset Room Supervisor will be responsible for:

  • Supervising pupils who have been directed to the Reset Room following incidents of behaviour or difficulties in lessons
  • Providing a calm, safe and supportive environment where pupils can regulate and reflect
  • Supporting pupils to understand and take responsibility for their behaviour
  • Using appropriate de-escalation and behaviour management strategies
  • Helping pupils identify triggers and develop strategies for managing their emotions and behaviour
  • Supporting pupils to successfully re-engage with learning and return to lessons when appropriate
  • Maintaining clear and consistent boundaries in line with the school's behaviour policy
  • Building positive, professional relationships with pupils while maintaining appropriate authority
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
  • Communicating relevant information regarding pupil behaviour and incidents to appropriate staff
  • Maintaining accurate records of pupils accessing the Reset Room
  • Supporting the school's wider behaviour and pastoral systems
  • Promoting positive attitudes, respect and responsibility
  • Contributing to a positive and inclusive school environment
  • Promoting safeguarding and the wellbeing of pupils at all times

Working Hours

The role will be worked on the following days:

  • Monday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Tuesday: 8:30am – 4:00pm
  • Wednesday: 8:30am – 3:00pm
  • Thursday: 8:30am – 3:00pm

Start date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Pay:Β£16.66 per hour

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have previous experience working with secondary-aged pupils or young people
  • Have experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour
  • Be confident managing behaviour calmly and consistently
  • Have strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be able to establish positive relationships while maintaining clear professional boundaries
  • Have an understanding of behaviour management, emotional regulation and de-escalation
  • Be patient, resilient and able to remain calm in challenging situations
  • Be confident working independently while also contributing effectively to a wider pastoral team
  • Have a positive and restorative approach to behaviour
  • Be committed to helping pupils overcome barriers to learning
  • Have a strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
  • Provide details of the last 2 references, covering the last 5 years' work history
  • Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration
  • Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy several checks
