Humanities Teacher in Burnley

• Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and enthusiastic
• Humanities Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive secondary school in the

Burnley area .

The role is part-time, Monday to Thursday , and is required

ASAP . The position is initially expected to run until

October half term , with the potential to continue longer-term for the right candidate.

About the Role

• Teach

Humanities across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 , delivering engaging and well-structured lessons.

• Deliver lessons across areas such as

History, Geography and Religious Education , depending on departmental requirements.

• Provide some

English cover when required, supporting pupils to maintain continuity of learning.

• Plan, prepare and deliver lessons in line with curriculum objectives and school schemes of work.
• Adapt and differentiate teaching to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities, learning styles and additional needs.
• Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed classroom environment where pupils are encouraged to participate and achieve.
• Monitor pupil progress and understanding, providing appropriate feedback and support.
• Maintain high expectations for behaviour, achievement, attendance and engagement .
• Use effective classroom management strategies to maintain a calm, safe and purposeful learning environment.
• Support pupils with SEND and other barriers to learning through appropriate differentiation and targeted assistance.
• Work collaboratively with teaching staff, Heads of Department and support colleagues to ensure effective lesson delivery and pupil progress.
• Follow all school policies and procedures, particularly those relating to safeguarding, behaviour and health and safety .

The Ideal Candidate Will

• Hold
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) ,

PGCE , or an equivalent teaching qualification.

• Have experience teaching

Humanities at secondary level , ideally across KS3 and KS4.

• Be confident delivering lessons in

History, Geography and/or Religious Education .

• Be willing and able to provide some

English cover when required.

• Have strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Be able to engage pupils through varied, well-planned and appropriately differentiated lessons.
• Have a positive and flexible approach to working across a secondary school environment.
• Be committed to raising attainment and supporting pupils to achieve their full potential.
• Have experience supporting pupils with

SEND and differing learning needs .

• Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
• Provide details of the latest two references, covering the last five years’ work history.
• Possess a current DBS check or be prepared to apply for one as part of your registration.
• Be willing to complete a face-to-face registration and satisfy the required compliance checks.
