Rotherwood Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated and caring SEND Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary SEND school in the Nelson area. This is a full-time, ongoing position starting ASAP, offering an excellent opportunity to support pupils with a range of additional needs and make a positive difference to their education and development.

- Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing
- Daily Rate: £85 – £95 per day, depending on experience
About the SEND Teaching Assistant Role
- Provide one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with a range of SEND
- Support pupils to access learning and participate positively in lessons
- Assist pupils with their social, emotional and communication development
- Support students with needs such as Autism, ADHD, SEMH and learning difficulties
- Work closely with teachers and the wider SEND team to meet individual learning needs
- Follow individual education plans and support personalised learning activities
- Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement
- Assist with classroom activities and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment
- Contribute to the wider life of the school and support pupils' overall development
The Ideal SEND Teaching Assistant Will
- Hold a Level xgikmsk 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant/SEND qualification, or have relevant experience
- Have experience supporting children or young people with SEND
- Be confident providing one-to-one and small-group support
- Have a patient, calm and positive approach
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Be committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of all pupils
- Be committed to the safeguarding of children and young people
