Rotherham United Community Trust are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic, charismatic and dedicated individual to join our Team.

Job Purpose:

The Community Coach is responsible for delivering a diverse range of high-quality health, wellbeing and physical activity programmes that are progressive and tailored to meet the needs of young people, adults, and older adults within the local community. The role will support the Health and Wellbeing Manager in coordinating and implementing the Health department's business plan, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Programme Delivery and Development
    • Design, plan and deliver high-quality health and physical activity sessions that are accessible to all age groups.
    • Prepare and maintain all materials required for sessions.
    • Provide cover for programmes when necessary.
    • Contribute to the continuous evaluation and development of health projects.
  • Community Engagement and Inclusion
    • Identify and engage with participants who may want to volunteer.
    • Promote local health and physical activity opportunities in community settings.
    • Implement strategies to overcome barriers to participation, particularly for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.
    • Plan and deliver educational and promotional sessions aimed at improving health and wellbeing within the community.
  • Staff and Volunteer Support
    • Supervise, mentor and provide clear direction to support staff and volunteers.
    • Work closely with colleagues across RUCT to share knowledge, develop skills and identify best practice.
  • Monitoring, Evaluation and Administration
    • Support the monitoring and evaluation of all projects, ensuring accurate and up-to-date data is maintained in a timely manner.
    • Complete administrative tasks including registers, reports, retention and achievement data.
    • Ensure compliance with funding body requirements, often using online data systems.
    • Recruit participants for programmes as required.
  • Professional Development and Representation
    • Attend training courses relevant to the role and maintain personal CPD records.
    • Represent RUCT at internal and external meetings and events as required.
    • Undertake additional duties and responsibilities as required, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Qualifications

  • Essential
    • Fitness qualification, level 2
    • Safeguarding, first aid & DBS (arranged by RUCT)
  • Desirable
    • Personal training, level 3
    • Exercise referral, level 3
    • Pilates
