Salary – Full time Band D (Scale point 5‑6) FTE salary £26,429 – £26,847 (Inclusive of the provisional 3.3% cost of living pay award) Actual Salary:

  • Full time (31.25 hrs) £19,316 – £19,622.
  • 3 days (Mon/Tue/Wed) 19.43 hrs £12,010 – £12,200.
  • 3 days (Wed/Thu/Fri) 18.75 hrs £11,590 – £11,773.
  • 2 days (Tue/Fri) 12.83 hrs £7,928 – £8,054.
  • 1 day (Fri) 6.25 hrs £3,863 – £3,924.

Hours/Days: Monday‑Friday 9:00 am – 3:35 pm; with an additional 50 minutes weekly on Tuesday for staff meeting.

Contract type: Permanent.

About our School: Hilltop is a designated 2‑19 special day school for pupils with severe and profound and/or multiple learning difficulties. We operate across two sites in Rotherham: the Hilltop site in Maltby and the Hilltop Forest View site in Rawmarsh. Pupils generally attend the Maltby site for key stages 1 and 2 of their education. For key stages 3 to 5 pupils, EHCP plans are reviewed and the school considers which site best suits their educational needs. Our ambition is to make Hilltop the centre of excellence for specialist provision and for promoting the latest inclusive practices across education.

Our Opportunity: We are seeking a highly motivated, enthusiastic, hardworking and flexible Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated staff team committed to providing an excellent learning environment. Whether you are an experienced Teaching Assistant with mainstream or specialist experience, or someone with exceptional vocational skills and a real drive to make a difference, you must be able to inspire our children and promote a positive culture in everything you do. Knowledge of SEN will be advantageous and you must be able to respond to the emotional, social and mental health needs of our children and young people. You will ensure their safety and facilitate learning by responding to individual needs, including personal care and hygiene requirements such as toileting and nappy changing. Through excellent interpersonal skills you will judge attainment and progress, celebrate success and support whole‑class lessons, group work and one‑to‑one sessions.
