There is an opportunity to join the street lighting delivery team, which is a small team of highway and electrical operatives responsible for the installation and maintenance of a variety of both electrical and non-electrical street furniture installations such as street lights, signs, bollards, benches, highway fencing and barriers throughout the Borough.

The post holder will be required to carry out site operations including the maintenance and installation of street lighting columns, traffic signs and other associated street furniture. Driving vehicles and operation of plant including Mobile Elevated Work Platforms (MEWPS), Crane/Lifting equipment (HIAB’s) and other plant/vehicles when required.

They will require knowledge and experience of health and safety regulations including risks in own area of work, a good working knowledge of installation, removal, repair and maintenance of highway electrical equipment. Also the ability to use, interpret and communicate information.

Candidates will be competent in working in a highway environment including Chapter 8 signing and guarding of roadworks. The candidate requires the ability to work at height and outdoors in all weathers. A full driving licence, preferably Class C 1 E and the ability to drive to sites around the district is essential.
