Rotherham Council is seeking an experienced and ambitious senior leader to take on a key role within our Property & Facilities Services Directorate. This is an exciting time to join us. Property & Facilities Services is undergoing a significant period of transformation – strengthening how we operate, improving service delivery, and building a more modern, commercially focused and resident‑centred approach. This newly defined role sits at the heart of that change.
You will lead our Soft Facilities Management portfolio, covering Cleaning, Catering and School Crossing Patrol services, with responsibility for a large, complex workforce of over 1,200 staff delivering essential frontline services across the borough.
The role
- Provide strategic leadership across Soft FM services
- Drive service improvement, modernisation and new ways of working
- Strengthen financial performance and commercial sustainability
- Ensure compliance, safeguarding and risk management across high-volume services
- Act as the senior professional lead, providing assurance to senior leadership and Members
- Build strong relationships with schools, partners and stakeholders.

About you
- Significant senior leadership experience in complex operational services
- A proven track record of managing large teams and budgets
- Strong understanding of Soft FM or similar frontline service delivery
- Experience of leading change, improving performance and managing risk
- Credibility and confidence working with senior stakeholders
