Location: Saint Pius X Catholic High School, Wath Wood Rd, Wath upon Dearne, Rotherham S63 7PQ.
Salary: DHSF2 Band E £26,403 – £28,142 (Actual range £23,966 – £26,084).
Contract type: Permanent – Term Time plus 10 days.
Working hours: 37 hours per week, full‑time basis.
Closing date: 9am Tuesday 14 July 2026.
Start date: 1 September 2026.
Responsibilities
- Support the Science Department by preparing, setting up, and clearing equipment and chemical solutions for daily lessons and demonstrations.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, conduct routine safety checks, manage inventory, and assist teachers and students with laboratory tasks.
- Requires a flexible team player, a solid understanding of school safety standards, and a structured, organised approach to workload prioritisation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Qualified applicants will have a degree or a relevant science‑related qualification, or substantial experience in a school science setting.
- Experience using laboratory equipment and managing safety procedures is required.
- The role normally requires teaching assistant or technology‑related experience.
