The Governors are looking to recruit a hardworking, enthusiastic School Cleaner to join our dedicated team. The successful candidate will take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the school. The successful candidate will:
- Be hardworking, reliable and trustworthy.
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment.
- Have a good understanding of cleaning procedures and the importance of hygiene, guidance will be given.
- Be able to carry out a range of cleaning duties to a high standard.
- Be able to work independently and use their own initiative.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have good organisational skills and be able to manage their time effectively.
- Be able to follow health and safety procedures and use cleaning equipment and materials safely.
- Be willing to undertake relevant training where required.
- Be flexible and willing to carry out additional duties as necessary.
- Be committed to working in line with the school’s ethos and values.
- Understand the importance of safeguarding and maintaining appropriate confidentiality within a school environment.
Duties will include cleaning classrooms, corridors, toilets, offices and other areas of the school, ensuring that high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained. Full training and appropriate equipment will be provided.
Applicants need to be aware that Thorogate School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment. References will be requested, and an enhanced DBS check will be undertaken as part of the recruitment process. Qualifications and eligibility to work in the UK will be checked as appropriate.
