Rotherham Council Housing Services
Three exciting opportunities have arisen to join Housing Services, part of the Adult Care, Housing and Public Health Directorate. We are seeking motivated individuals with a passion for improving service quality and enhancing our customer experience.
- Housing Options (permanent): Provides a wide range of services to support residents in housing need, including Homelessness and Temporary Accommodation, Lettings and Allocations, Furnished Homes, and Aids and Adaptations.
- The Housing and Estates Service (permanent): Provides a wide range of services to support tenancy management and estate management.
- Project Development Officer (Fixed‑Term, Until March 2027): This role will specifically lead on the development of Rotherham Council’s District Heating service, in line with new regulations coming into place in 2026.
The successful post holder will be directly responsible for supporting the implementation of proposals around Pricing, Transparency of information, quality of service and supply of heat, and the protection of vulnerable customers. It will be the responsibility of the project development officer to ensure regulatory compliance, including the potential for sourcing alternate billing systems, whilst focusing on delivering the best outcomes for residents.
These roles are ideal for someone who wants to make a meaningful difference to local people through service development, innovation, and evidence‑based improvement. You will be joining a fast‑paced service, so enthusiasm, forward‑thinking and adaptability are essential.
We Are Looking For Candidates Who:
- Can plan and deliver a range of projects across Housing Services
- Can undertake research, analyse current processes, and develop evidence‑based business cases for service improvements.
- Has excellent analytical skills and can interpret customer data to generate meaningful insight.
- Is able to develop and update policies, procedures and strategies.
- Can produce clear, well‑structured reports for management, Cabinet, committees, Council and partnership boards, ensuring effective governance and decision‑making.
- Brings a customer‑focused attitude, with the ability to build strong working relationships and communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
- Ensures customers are engaged and consulted in service delivery and transformation where appropriate.
