Oakwood High School
Responsible to: SENCO, Working under the guidance of Teaching Staff and Assistant SENCO
Responsible for: Supporting students as directed (and the supervision of staff where appropriate)
Working hours: 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, Monday to Thursday – 8am – 4pm; Fridays, 8am – 3.30pm term time at 192 days

Inspire Learning Trust is a Multi Academy Trust based in Rotherham which also includes Oakwood High School, Sitwell Junior School, Thomas Rotherham College and Winterhill School.
We are looking to appoint a well-qualified and committed candidate to join an enthusiastic, supportive and successful school as a Learning Mentor. The successful candidate will be working under the direction of the SENCO to deliver agreed work with individuals and groups, in and out of the classroom.
Will play a pivotal role in supporting students with a range of needs and challenges to enable them to experience the broad and balanced curriculum, which is their right. A key aspect of the role will involve working closely with students who require emotional support and nurturing relationships, empowering them to engage with their learning and develop the confidence, skills and independence needed in accessing the curriculum.
The successful candidate will be truly committed to supporting the students to make progress and achieve, with high expectations and aspirations for students’ success. They will actively contribute to ongoing planning with imaginative and dynamic ideas, playing a key role in the school’s journey towards outstanding.
All students and staff are provided with an electronic device to enhance learning and promote independence, supporting a dynamic and inclusive learning environment.
