Housekeeper Cook at Aughton Early Years Centre, Aughton, Sheffield, S26 3XH.

Salary: £13.58 per hour (pay award pending).

Contract: 14 hours per week over 2 days (Thursday and Friday 9:00am‑4:30pm) – Part‑time, full year, Permanent.

Position start: August 2026.

The successful candidate will be expected to work during normal school holidays enabling the Centre to open all year round.

Duties will include:

  • Prepare and serve healthy, balanced and nutritious meals for large numbers of very young children in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage, including catering for special dietary requirements.
  • Ensure the kitchen and food preparation areas are kept clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Complete and maintain accurate records to ensure safe food management in line with current food legislation.
  • Order, receive and store the deliveries of groceries and housekeeping supplies; monitor stock levels, rotate stock regularly, and dispose of out‑of‑date products appropriately.
  • Carry out laundry duties.
  • Adopt a flexible and willing approach to support all Centre aims and objectives.
  • Communicate effectively and work proactively as part of a complex team.

The Centre is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. Successful candidates will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Check, as well as provide satisfactory references – one professional and one character – and an enhanced criminal records check.
