The Head of Corporate Finance position is a key role within the Council, vital to ensuring continued financial sustainability and control. The role is a key stepping stone for those looking to gain the skills, experience and knowledge required to move to the Deputy S151 level; we are keen to meet those aspiring to achieve this.
A member of the Corporate Services Management Team, the post holder will lead the Corporate Finance Team with responsibility for:
- Corporate Services business partnering
- Financial accounting
- Treasury management
- Capital and financial systems
The post holder will be responsible for a Corporate Finance Team that has an excellent track record of performance, helping deliver a robust Budget and Medium‑Term Financial Strategy, strong treasury management, capital business partnering and continued delivery of clean audited financial accounts ahead of national deadlines. We are looking for a leader who can help continue this strong performance and raise the team's performance further.
The post holder will also be responsible for delivery of a work programme jointly set by the Executive Director of Corporate Services (S151) and Director of Policy, Strategy and Engagement in order to provide Business Partnering. The post holder reports to the Service Director – Financial Services (Deputy S151 Officer).
