Job description

  • Directorate: Corporate Services
  • Permanent, full time, 37 hours per week

We are looking for an individual who is motivated and forward-thinking to join our Revenues, Benefits & Payments Service.

Working closely with the Development & Improvement Manager, you will support the delivery of projects and programmes that improve processes, systems and service performance.

You will help shape how services are delivered, identifying opportunities for innovation and ensuring the service remains efficient, effective and responsive to changing legislation and customer needs.

  • What you will be doing
  • Supporting the delivery of service improvement projects and change programmes across Revenues, Benefits & Payments.
  • Conducting research, analysing data and producing management information to inform decision-making and service development.
  • Assist in the development and review of policies, procedures and operational processes.
  • Contribute to the production of reports and performance information for senior managers, leadership teams and elected members.
  • Support the testing and implementation of system developments and upgrades.
  • Deliver training and guidance to colleagues on the changes delivered by the Development and Improvement team.
  • Where required, assist with contract monitoring, financial controls and project governance activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, partners and external organisations to drive service improvements and achieve positive outcomes for customers.
  • What we’re looking for
  • A passion for service improvement, innovation and delivering positive change.
  • Significant experience working within a Revenues, Benefits & Payments environment or a similar service area, understanding the needs of our service and customers.
  • Experience of supporting or delivering service improvement, change management or project activities.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex information and present findings clearly.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills and vast experience using a variety of systems and applications, including data analysis and reporting tools.

Experience using NEC (Northgate) Revenues & Benefits System is desirable.

  • An ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and meet deadlines.
  • A proactive approach to understanding the work carried out across the service, utilising this knowledge to identify opportunities for improvement.

Qualifications

  • A Level 6 qualification (such as a degree) or a Level 5 qualification (such as HND, Foundation Degree or equivalent) together with relevant experience;
  • Demonstrable equivalent knowledge and experience gained through substantial work in a relevant field.
