Casual, variable hours, working as and when required based at Lord Hardy Court Residential Home, Rotherham. Includes weekend working to provide cover at the home. Enhancements are paid for weekend and bank holiday working. Lord Hardy Court provides care to 60 older people, with a range of individual needs, and Mental Health problems including Dementia and Learning Disability. The home also provides joint working with NHS to offer Step-up Step-down services to the community.
Responsibilities:
- General cleaning duties
- Undertake laundry requirements, including washing and ironing
- Operate relevant machinery and equipment
- Assist where required to support staff and service users with mealtimes
- Contribute to the provision of a comfortable, safe and hygienic environment for the service users and other customers to the home
Applicants ideally need experience in a social care setting and have Level 1 or Direct Care NVQ or equivalent, though training is available in-house and through the council's own programmes. Lord Hardy Court operates a shift system on a rota basis, which includes weekends and bank holidays, and cover is required up to 37 hours for leave and sickness.
