An exciting opportunity has arisen for the role of a temporary Cabinet Support Assistant to support the Leader of the Council, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Members. As a Cabinet Support Assistant, you will provide confidential, administrative and technical support ensuring the effective operation of senior political leadership. The role requires a high level of professionalism, discretion and attention to detail, supporting complex diaries, correspondence, briefings and meetings, and facilitating clear communication and efficient decision-making.

The key responsibilities for a Cabinet Support Assistant are:

  • Managing and maintaining multiple diary schedules and appointments
  • Dealing with complex and sensitive customer queries
  • Assist with incoming and outgoing correspondence and either draft or arrange for responses
  • Arrange and attend meetings, produce agendas and take minutes
  • Organise the procurement of goods / services

This post will have access to the Public Services Network; if successful you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).
