A great opportunity to join a newly established team! The Business Development Team sits at the heart of the Regeneration and Environment Directorate and plays a key role in driving improvement across the organisation. The team leads and supports a wide range of policy areas aimed at improving outcomes for local people, including change and transformation projects, workforce development, customer experience enhancements, digitalisation, investment delivery, and legislative compliance.

We are looking for a proactive and organised Business Support Assistant to join our team. This role is essential in supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of training and development activities across the directorate. You will help ensure programmes run smoothly by managing course bookings, maintaining accurate training records, raising purchase orders, and updating intranet content. You will also coordinate advertising, waiting lists, and promotional activities to enhance staff engagement.

Working closely with the Workforce Development Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring training activities are well-organised, accessible, and aligned with workforce development priorities.

Applicants should have experience in an administrative role, ideally supporting learning and development initiatives. You will be confident using a range of ICT applications, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases, and demonstrate strong literacy and numeracy skills. Experience of handling sensitive information securely, promoting digital access, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment is essential. You should be adaptable, well-organised, and able to work under pressure to meet deadlines. Strong communication skills and attention to detail are vital, along with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.

Qualifications required: NQF Level 2 qualification (e.g., GCSEs Grades 4–9) or equivalent experience. This post will have access to the Public Services Network; if successful, you will be required to apply for a disclosure of criminal records check at the Basic level (unspent criminal convictions).
