Contractual hours: 32.5 per week, Monday to Friday 8:30am – 3:30pm during term time only.

Diocese of Hallam. Our Lady and St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School is a one form entry Catholic Primary School situated in Wath-upon-Dearne in Rotherham. We are seeking to appoint an outstanding 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a child currently in Year 3 who has a tracheostomy and significant communication needs. The ideal candidate will have a passion for education, experience of working with children with additional needs, and excellent interpersonal skills. They will play a key role in supporting the child's learning, communication, independence and wellbeing, ensuring they are fully included in all aspects of school life.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the child’s learning, communication, independence, and wellbeing throughout the school day.
  • Assisting with routine health and care needs.
  • Ensuring the child can fully access learning opportunities and participate in all aspects of school life while a trained carer is present with the child at all times.

Qualifications:

  • Level 2 or equivalent qualifications (or a commitment to begin this training).
  • Experience of working with children.
  • A kind and caring attitude towards children of all ages.
  • A good sense of humour and ability to work as part of a team.
