b Overview /b p As Chair, you will lead Rotherham Town Board in shaping a shared vision for long-term regeneration and community impact. You will convene diverse stakeholders from business, voluntary groups, education, media, police, and council services to foster open, collaborative decision making. You’ll communicate externally, navigate conflicts calmly, and mentor others while ensuring voices are heard. This voluntary role offers training and travel cost support, with a clear DBS check and references. You’ll drive meaningful change for residents of Rotherham. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li training provided /li li travel costs reimbursed /li li voluntary role /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Act as a proactive, trustworthy convenor who unites diverse voices to form a collective vision for the borough /li li Foster fair, balanced discussions and ensure all voices are heard in Board meetings /li li Build consensus, manage conflicts calmly and impartially /li li Represent the Board publicly and as the external face of the group /li li Identify knowledge gaps and ensure Board composition complements those gaps /li li Be open to learning, feedback, and mentoring others /li li Prioritise the role with time for regular meetings (every 6–12 weeks) and pre-briefings with RMBC officers /li li Support local decision-making and drive long-term regeneration and investment across the borough /li li Coordinate with local stakeholders including businesses, community groups, education, media, police, and council services /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Deep connection to Rotherham and commitment to driving change /li li Strong leadership qualities; private sector experience encouraged /li li Ability to convene diverse voices and manage stakeholder networks /li li Long-term commitment to supporting the work of the Town Board in partnership with RMBC /li li Credibility and respect as a local leader /li li Fair, balanced, and inclusive approach to discussions /li li Willingness to learn, accept feedback, and mentor others /li li Time to prioritise the role and participate in regular meetings /li li Eligible for DBS clearance and able to provide two references /li /ul ul li liderazgo /li li facilitación y mediación /li li escucha activa /li li stakeholder engagement /li li governance facilitation /li li conflict resolution /li /ul
