An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and innovative clinical or counselling psychologist to join our Adult Mental Health Acute Care Pathway in Rotherham (0.8wte). The post also includes one day in the community (0.2wte) working into the Psychological Therapies Hub within Adult Mental Health, delivering evidence based Psychological Therapies.
We have a clear commitment and passion for developing Psychological thinking and ways of working within our inpatient wards and this post provides an opportunity to work within multi-disciplinary teams where Clinical Psychology is valued, focusing on improving Psychological care for Service Users. The post holder will be an integral part of the multi-disciplinary teams and will form part of the senior leadership team, contributing to the development of inpatient pathways aimed at improving care.
At the Swallownest site, we have two acute wards and a PICU. The post-holder will offer time (0.8wte) into the Acute wards and also have a day (0.2wte) in the Community working into the Psychological Therapies Hub offering Psychological therapy assessment and intervention. The split post gives an opportunity to develop skills working in both Acute and Community teams and to develop skills in both longer term and shorter-term Psychological interventions and therapies.

Rotherham Care Group has invested in expanding leadership across the teams in order to provide greater oversight and development of both community and inpatient services, working to developing a trauma informed workforce and develop a strong multi-disciplinary team approach; of which you will be a key component.
The post holder will offer individual clinical work (specialist assessment, formulation and psychological intervention) with service-users and develop team based formulations. This post also offers a valuable opportunity to develop skills in consultation to enhance psychological thinking in the inpatient teams. A key role of the post-holder will therefore be to offer consultation and supervision, opportunities for reflective practice, alongside promoting staff wellbeing and resilience. There will be opportunities for research and service evaluation as part of the role. They will work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
