Rotheram Carrington Financial Recruitment is delighted to partner with a well-established and rapidly growing business in Cheshire East with a turnover of circa £50m. Our client is seeking a Qualified Financial & Management Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis.
This is a hands-on role reporting to the Finance Manager. This is a subsidiary of a larger group, offering a fantastic opportunity for a recently qualified accountant, or a first-time mover from practice who is looking to gain broad exposure and make a real impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, from the trial balance through to financial statements
- Oversee journals, reconciliations, and ensure month-end tasks are delivered accurately and on time.
- Produce and review balance sheet reconciliations (e.g. intercompany, stock, liabilities).
- Review and reconcile monthly VAT returns.
- Provide insightful reporting and management information to support decision-making.
- Take a lead role in annual audits, liaising with external auditors and providing required documentation.
- Support year-end statutory accounts preparation, working closely with advisors and group finance.
- Act as a point of contact for accounting queries, ensuring best practice and compliance.
- Partner with colleagues across functions (Supply Chain, Payroll, Billing) to drive collaboration.
- Assist the Management Accountant with process improvements and efficiency projects.
- Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements (HMRC, ONS, Companies House).
- Contribute to strengthening financial controls and processes to support business growth.
Skills & Experience
- ACCA/ACA /CIMA qualified (or close to qualification).
- Strong technical accounting skills
- Experience in financial audit and statutory filings preferred
- Excellent attention to detail
- Naturally process-driven, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Team player, adaptable, and willing to support colleagues during peak periods.
Salary & Benefits
