We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Childcare Solicitor (Panel Member) to join our expanding Family Law team. This is an excellent opportunity for a driven practitioner who is passionate about safeguarding children and delivering high-quality representation in complex public law proceedings.
The Role
Our established Childcare Team provides a full range of specialist services including:
- Care proceedings, supervision orders and other public law children matters
- Special Guardianship Orders
- Private law children orders including Child Arrangements Orders, Prohibited Steps Orders and Specific Issue Orders.
As a Childcare Solicitor and Panel Member, you will manage a varied caseload of complex childcare matters, providing expert legal advice and representation, including advocacy in court.
What We Are Looking For
The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical expertise in childcare law and a commitment to exceptional client care. You will ideally have:
- Minimum 5 years PQE as a qualified Solicitor
- Law Society Children Law Accreditation (essential)
- Proven experience in public law childcare proceedings including instructions from Children’s Guardians
- Strong advocacy experience in family court
- Experience dealing with Legal Aid cases
- Ability to manage a busy caseload under pressure and meet strict deadlines
- A commercial approach to fee earning and billing
- Experience supporting and mentoring junior team members
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
