Background

Our client is a leading supplier of engineering systems and solutions. They have over 30 years of designing and manufacturing engineering solutions such as GRP Kiosks and enclosures, chemical dosing systems, booster sets and dry powder polymer systems. They are well established within the water, power, wind and construction sectors and a unique opportunity for a Sales Engineer has become available to join an expanding team in Bradford. This is an excellent opportunity that will offer significant development and leadership from the General Manager and opportunity to build a sales team long term as part of the rapidly expanding GRP business unit.

The Role

As the sales engineer, your focus will be to proactively drive sales growth through account management and developing lapsed accounts and leads with bids and tenders to achieve targets within the required markets. This is a new role and is critical in continuing development of the GRP business which has experienced great growth in previous years. This is also an excellent opportunity for a motivated and driven individual that would like to develop their career through high performance.

Responsibilities are outlined below:

  • Proactively develop new business through site visits
  • Understanding customer needs and specifications
  • Provide quotes and review tenders
  • Building and maintaining excellent customer relationships
  • Be able to read and interpret engineering drawings such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams
  • Working within project deadlines and customer requirements

This role will spend approximately 50% of time on the road visiting customers and the remainder either working from site in Bradford or remotely.

The Candidate

We are looking to hear from area sales managers, sales engineers, account managers and business development managers with experience in solutions-driven sales in an engineering environment. This is a proactive sales role so prior experience of growing sales, developing and building relationships, field sales and technical sales is essential. Full training will be given but an engineering qualification or prior engineering experience is beneficial.
