We're looking for a Sales Development Representative to work within our thriving Sales team. As a Sales Development Representative at RotaCloud, you'll be the first real conversation many businesses have with us, whether they're exploring us through a free trial or discovering us for the first time. You'll re‑engage trial users, reach out to new businesses, and run discovery conversations that uncover genuine workforce management challenges, booking meetings for our Account Executives that are built on real understanding, not just volume. Sitting at the centre of Sales, Marketing, Product, and Customer Success, you'll act as the commercial lead for every opportunity you create, feeding market and customer insight back into the business and helping remove friction across the buying journey, shaping how prospects experience RotaCloud from their very first interaction.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Pipeline engagement and qualification: Proactively contact prospects currently in their free trial period via phone, email, and in‑app messaging to drive engagement and adoption. Re‑engage users whose trials have expired to understand why they didn't convert and revive interest where appropriate. Run structured discovery to understand customer context, pain points, buying process, and product fit. Identify and reach out to new businesses that haven't yet tried RotaCloud, introducing them to the product through cold calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach.
- Solution selling, demos and proposals: Identify opportunities for RotaCloud products through effective questioning. Qualify prospects against ideal customer criteria before handing off to sales. Book qualified meetings and demos for Account Executives, ensuring a smooth handoff with clear context.
- Pipeline management: Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records of all prospect and trial interactions in HubSpot. Contribute to pipeline reporting with a focus on accuracy and learnings, not just volume.
- Customer experience through the buying journey: Create a confident, low‑friction experience from trial to scheduled meeting. Agree next steps with prospects and keep commitments, timelines, and expectations clear. Share actionable feedback to improve the product story, trial experience, and sales materials.
- Cross‑team collaboration and continuous improvement: Share insights, objections, and wins with the Sales team to improve collective performance. Partner with Marketing on lead quality feedback and messaging that resonates. Partner with Customer Success on onboarding readiness and handover quality to drive retention outcomes.
You’ll Thrive In This Role If You
- Can engage in a consultative approach: ask strong questions, listen well and align solutions to the customer’s reality.
- Are competent at organisation and follow‑through: manage multiple opportunities without losing momentum or detail.
- Have a high level of resilience and adaptability: remain effective through rejection, change, and shifting priorities.
- Are a strong collaborator: can work constructively across teams, sharing information early and clearly.
What We’re Looking For
- A strong communicator, written and verbal, with confidence on the phone.
- Self‑motivated with a competitive drive to hit and exceed targets.
- Strong stakeholder management, able to build trust with a range of decision makers.
- Confident communicator, able to explain product value clearly and handle objections professionally.
- Comfortable working with CRM discipline (HubSpot), activity tracking and pipeline reporting.
- Interest in SaaS and product‑led growth, with a willingness to learn new features and translate them into customer outcomes.
What’s in it for you?
- Salary of £26,500 - £28,000 + bonus structure depending on experience.
- Hybrid flexible working – need to drop the kids off at school? No problem.
- 34 days holiday (inc. BH's with a length of service increase to 41) & options to buy and sell.
- Discretionary bonus.
- Private healthcare.
- Paid lunch break.
- Enhanced family‑friendly benefits.
- £500 per year to spend on learning and development.
- Eye health support.
- Paid time off for volunteering.
- Fortnightly work events, monthly department lunches, bi‑annual company events.
