Rota Support is acting on behalf of our client to recruit an experienced Registered Manager for their elderly nursing home located in Ipswich, a well-established, family-orientated nursing home providing high-quality nursing, residential and dementia care. The home is registered for 30 residents and currently operates with 25 bedrooms, allowing us to provide a personalised and resident-focused service. They are seeking an experienced, dedicated and compassionate Registered Manager to take on the role of Home Manager (preference would be Nurse Qualified but not necessary for the right candidate) within our nursing home to lead our team and drive excellence in care, governance, staff development and regulatory compliance.
This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious leader to join a supportive organisation with engaged owners, an experienced Clinical Lead Nurse/Deputy Manager and a committed care team. You will act as the Registered Manager with the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the care home, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, and maintaining compliance with all CQC requirements. This leadership position requires a compassionate professional with a strong background in nursing, dementia care, and management, committed to fostering a safe, respectful, and nurturing environment for residents.
Responsibilities
- Provide visible and effective leadership across the home.
- Promote a positive culture focused on dignity, respect and person-centred care.
- Lead, motivate and develop the nursing, care and support teams.
- Work closely with the Clinical Lead Nurse/Deputy Manager to maintain clinical excellence.
- Ensure effective staff supervision, appraisals and performance management.
Desirable Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC registration.
- Previous experience as a CQC Registered Manager.
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care.
- Experience managing nursing and dementia services.
- Experience achieving Good or Outstanding CQC ratings.
- Budget management experience.
Working Hours, Employment Terms and Benefits
- £45,000–£60,000 salary dependent on experience.
- Performance-related bonus.
- Free hot lunch for all staff onsite.
- Full Time position: 37.5 hours.
- Normal Working hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm with 1 hour lunch break.
- Requirement to work 1 Saturday per month with time off in-lieu.
- 5.6 weeks' of annual leave inclusive of bank holidays.

As Home Manager and Registered Manager, you will be expected to demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the service, manage emergencies and support regulatory requirements. This includes being available outside normal working hours when required. During periods of annual leave, responsibility will be formally handed over to the Clinical Lead Nurse/Deputy Manager.
