We are looking for a Nursery Deputy Manager (Lead Practitioner). This role is to manage the Pre School as well as managerial tasks within the setting including finance, deployment of staff and working in line with company policies and procedures.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in a management/leadership role as well as prior experience in admin within a nursery setting.

Responsibilities/ Duties:

  • To comply with legal requirements and Rosy Apple Childcare Policies and Procedures.
  • Ensure staff within your base room follow and adhere to Policies and Procedures.
  • Take part in continuous professional development.
  • Be an effective communicator.
  • Responsible for SEND within base room, including identifying support needed, and actioning.
  • Monitor children’s progress within the base room.
  • Ensure quality educational programmes are followed.
  • Lead the base room in providing high standards of provision for children.
  • Engage in positive leadership, promoting and supporting staff welfare.
  • Support the executive lead in safeguarding children, families and staff within the setting.
  • Positive partnership working with parents and external agencies.
  • Work in line with statutory framework including legal requirements.
  • Promote Equality, Diversity and Inclusion.
  • Support the Executive lead with administrative duties.
  • Support the Executive lead with collection and recording of fees.
  • Use IT software packages as supplied by the company.
  • Ensure confidentiality of information received in line with Policies and Procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of health and safety.

Experience

Essential:

  • 1 year experience in a leadership role within the early years sector.
  • History of a successful career in Early Years.
  • Previous experience with fee collection and administrative duties linked to nursery IT systems.

Qualifications

Essential:

  • Level 3 or above in Early Years Education and Childcare, or other relevant qualification.
  • Leadership and Management Level 5 qualification or working towards/willing to enrol onto within 3 months of starting role.

Desirable:

  • Degree Level Early Years Qualification.

Training

Essential:

  • Evidence of engagement in Continuous Professional Development.

Desirable:

  • Mandatory training completed including, First Aid, Safeguarding Level 1, 2 and 3, FGM, Radicalisation, Child Sexual Exploitation, Online Safety, Faith Based Abuse Witchcraft, EHA, Manual Handling, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene.
  • Level 3 SEND.
