We have an exciting opportunity available for a Design Assistant to join our dynamic team here at Trailberg.

Experience is preferred in the outdoor/activewear sector, with a good understanding of colour, fabric and construction.

You will help bring newness and design vision to each collection, as well as understanding the commercial needs of the business.

Your role will be to help and produce inspiration research, design into both seasonal and SMU collections creating detailed tech packs across jersey, woven and outerwear.

You will be reporting into the Head of Brand, working closely with a team of designers and product developers.

Main roles and Responsibilities

  • Support the Design team across seasonal apparel and accessories collections, from initial concept through to final production.
  • Create and update accurate garment CADs, colourways and technical artwork using Adobe Illustrator.
  • Assist with the development of graphics, prints, branding, trims and garment details.
  • Prepare and amend artwork and design packs for suppliers and factories.
  • Support the team with sample reviews, design amendments and sample management.
  • Research and present relevant fashion, outdoor, performance and streetwear trends, including colour, fabric, graphics and product direction.
  • Maintain organised design files, CADs, artwork, samples and seasonal information.
  • Work closely with Design, Product Development and Merchandising to ensure styles are developed accurately and to deadline.
  • Support the Senior Designer / Head of Design with day-to-day design tasks and seasonal deadlines.
  • Contribute ideas and creative input to help develop and evolve the Trailberg product aesthetic.

Requirements, skills and experience

  • Must be passionate about product and innovation within the sports/outdoor sector
  • Must have a commercial mindset, in particular the UK market
  • Be proficient using Adobe Suite and have some sort of portfolio
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating work relevant to this role
  • Dedicated team player who can quickly adapt to change in a fast-growing business
  • Excellent time management
