Reports to: Area Manager
Salary: £14 per hour
Working Hours: Thursday to Saturday 12:00-20:00 and Sundays 12:00-17:00
Role Overview
As a Retail Security Officer, you'll play a key role in protecting our people, stock and store environment. Working closely with the Store Management Team, you'll help prevent loss, reduce risk and maintain a high standard of safety across the store.
Key Responsibilities
- Actively monitor the store environment to identify and report incidents
- Operate and review CCTV systems in line with company policies and procedures
- Support the enforcement of Health & Safety guidelines
- Carry out internal investigations into stock loss, theft and fraud
- Engage professionally with customers and colleagues to resolve situations calmly
- Be a visible deterrent to shoplifters and troublemakers
- Lawfully deter and apprehend shoplifters
- Collaborate with centre security to prevent stock loss
- Conduct colleague and visitor searches in a fair, respectful, and nondiscriminatory manner, in line with the Equality Act 2010
- Ability to review and provide analytics for P&L reports
Required Skills & Experience
- SIA - Door Supervisor / Security Guarding Licence (required)
- 1 years + Experience working as a security officer/guard
- A supportive team player who takes pride in doing the right thing
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to follow procedures and remain calm in pressured situations
- Work reference check provided before employment starts
Desirable
- Security experience in a retail store
- Ability to work at any of our sites in Manchester and Liverpool
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365
