As the Partnership Manager, you will be responsible for the development and delivery of a cohesive fundraising strategy to progress submissions and income generation in line with our overarching Strategic and Business plans. This will encompass a full range of fundraising activities from research to submission whilst ensuring compliance with legislation, financial regulations and ethical practice.

In addition, the Partnership Manager will develop and deliver Rossie’s marketing strategy by effectively raising public awareness and promoting our vision locally and more widely by building strong community links and increasing visibility via marketing methodologies.

In all areas, you will work closely with the Executive Head of HR and Organisational Development (EHHROD) to deliver all elements of the job role. This is a pivotal role, which encompasses income generation and organisation promotion. This will involve working with both managers and external stakeholders to ensure systematic and progressive fundraising, marketing to support organisational development.

Development and delivery of Rossie’s fundraising strategy according to charity status and regulation:
  • Fundraising
  • Develop, implement, monitor and review Rossie’s fundraising strategy in line with the overall business and operational plans.
  • Identify and progress new funding opportunities to maximise income potential.
  • Develop and maintain strong professional relationships with funders.
  • Progress the development, writing and submission of funding applications, sponsorship proposals and income generation communication.
  • Provide strategic advice to the CEO and Executive Team on fundraising trends, risks and opportunities.
Grants and Trusts
  • Research and develop a pipeline of grant-making trusts and foundations aligned with Rossie's work and charitable purpose.
  • Write and submit high-quality funding applications, working with CEO and Executive Team to develop project proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records of applications, outcomes, compliance obligations and reporting deadlines.
  • Lead on building professional relationships with programme officers and foundation staff to strengthen future applications.
Major Gifts and Donor Engagement
  • Identify, cultivate and steward individual donors and family foundations with capacity to make significant gifts.
  • Develop compelling funding proposals and cases for funding for programmes and capital projects.
  • Ensure exceptional donor stewardship including regular impact reporting and relationship management.
  • Brief the CEO, EHHROD and Board in donor engagement activities, preparing briefings and facilitating introductions.
  • Maximise tax-efficient giving through Gift Aid and other mechanisms.
Development and Delivery of Rossie’s marketing strategy:
  • Marketing
  • Develop, implement and monitor Rossie’s marketing strategy in line with the overall business and operational plans.
  • Develop and manage marketing content including digital platforms, website, social media, newsletters and the Annual Impact Report.
  • Work with managers to ensure campaigns and project marketing are discussed, progressed and reviewed for effectiveness.
  • Design marketing campaigns and analyse and report on campaign effectiveness/impact.
  • Collaborate with external PR advisors on updating, publication and use of marketing crisis lines.
  • Work with Executive and Senior Teams (ESLMT) to ensure marketing branding is consistent and in line with agreed organisational branding.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for Rossie and its marketing function.
Community Fundraising and Events
  • Develop and grow community fundraising income including individual giving, regular giving and legacy programmes.
  • Plan and deliver fundraising events and supporter engagement activities.
  • Coordinate and progress third-party fundraising by community supporters.
  • Develop corporate partnership opportunities aligned with Rossie's values and charitable mission.
Ensure appropriate and complete Management, Compliance and Administration:
  • Attend and progress any meetings relevant to fundraising, marketing and managerial as required to comply with full role activities and requirements.
  • Prepare reports, updates and data analysis for the ESLMT for oversight.
  • Maintain accurate records to ensure fundraising compliance, marketing, GDPR and ethical standards.
  • In collaboration with Finance Director, manage budgets for fundraising and marketing activities, monitoring performance and return on investment.
  • Keep up to date on latest developments on marketing strategies and effectiveness.
  • Research, develop, monitor and review policies relevant to the role and organisational compliance.
  • Report directly to the EHHROD on all matters pertaining to fundraising and marketing.

PERSON SPECIFICATION:Qualifications (Essential):
  • Degree in fundraising, marketing, communications or a related discipline; OR minimum 5 years' relevant professional experience in a fundraising and/or marketing role.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development relevant to fundraising or marketing.
Qualifications (Desirable):
  • Institute of Fundraising (IoF) qualification or equivalent professional accreditation.
  • CIM qualification or equivalent marketing credential.
Experience (Essential):
  • Proven experience planning and delivering a marketing strategy.
  • Experience managing brand identity and producing high-quality marketing content.
  • Experience using CRM or donor management systems.
  • Experience of campaign analytics, performance measurement and ROI reporting.
Knowledge (Essential):
  • Working knowledge of the Code of Fundraising Practice and charity fundraising regulations.
  • Understanding of the distinction between a charity's trading subsidiary and its charitable entity, and the implications for fundraising.
  • Understanding of GDPR and data protection as applied to fundraising and marketing activities.
Knowledge (Desirable):
  • Familiarity with the secure care, residential care or youth justice sector.
  • Knowledge of Scottish charity regulation, OSCR requirements and relevant Scottish funding bodies.
  • Knowledge of Gift Aid and tax-efficient giving mechanisms.
Skills (Essential):
  • Excellent written communication.
  • Ability to produce compelling and persuasive grant/trust funding applications.
  • Proven track record of successful applications to charitable trusts, foundations and statutory funders.
  • Analytical skills — able to interpret income data, evaluate campaign/present findings effectiveness.
  • Strong project and workload management with ability to meet multiple deadlines independently.
Skills (Desirable):
  • Financial literacy — able to develop, manage and report on budgets.
