Rossendale Borough Council’s Operations Team is looking to appoint an experienced Tree Inspector to join their Green Spaces Team. The main duties of the role will involve carrying out surveys and inspections of trees in Parks, Cemeteries, open spaces and unmaintained estate. The role requires the utilisation of the Council’s digital mapping software and the ability to produce reports and recommendations to the Tree Team to help maintain the Council’s tree stock. Regular interaction is required with Green Spaces Staff and Management to produce work programmes throughout the year.
Responsibilities
- Using Ezytreev software to record cyclical safety surveys and visual tree assessments of individual and groups of trees, and production of reports on health and management recommendations.
- Assisting with storm damage inspections or emergency tree situations.
- Use of digital mapping software to create and maintain an inventory of tree stock across various land types.
- Communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, managing customer expectations and delivering accurate information to a diverse range of stakeholders, partners, and the public, including in difficult situations.
- Work alongside the Green Spaces Manager to help to produce and prioritise seasonal workloads.
