Rossendale Borough Council is looking for a Flexi-Go Operator to join its Operations Green Spaces Team, helping keep local parks, cemeteries, play areas and cycle ways clean, safe and well maintained.
About the Role
You’ll operate a non-LGV mechanical sweeper and other machinery (up to 7.5 tonnes) to carry out cleansing and maintenance tasks across Rossendale’s public spaces. The role includes street cleansing, litter collection, debris removal, jet washing, drain clearance, seasonal gritting and snow clearance, as well as transporting waste to authorised disposal sites. You’ll also be responsible for daily vehicle checks, basic maintenance, and safe operation of equipment, while following health and safety procedures and delivering a professional service to the public.
Essential Requirements
- Category B Driving Licence (or equivalent)
- Valid Driver Qualification Card (DQC)
- Experience driving vehicles in a street cleansing or environmental services environment
- Ability to operate mechanical sweepers and powered jet washing equipment
- Good communication, literacy and numeracy skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
