Overview: Location: Ashford. Contract: full-time, 40 hrs per week. Salary: £27,477.40 per annum. Expected Start Date: ASAP.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide a workshop-based engineering role repairing, servicing and maintaining wheelchairs.
  • Conduct repairs, servicing and maintenance as directed by the Service Centre Manager, Warehouse Supervisor or Line Manager.
  • Process all associated paperwork concerning repairs and servicing accurately on a daily basis.
  • Ensure all warranty and scrap returns are labelled correctly and collated at the end of each day.
  • Follow infection control policy at all times.
  • Undertake engineering work in terms of service and repairs, and refurbishment in accordance with prescription builds.
  • Assist in clinical appointments with Healthcare professionals for any repairs and servicing requirements.
  • Undertake administrative duties as required.
  • Ensure all parts used are allocated from Stores through the Stores process.
  • Adhere to Ross Care's operational procedures and the House Keeping procedure in accordance with RCQP.
  • Maintain a professional approach in all aspects of the role, including appearance, paperwork, use of power tools and work bench station.
  • Stocktake assistance for annual and interim stocktakes as required.
  • Communicate effectively with customers and inform them of relevant additional services as appropriate.
  • Perform duties in line with Company policies, procedures and instructions and in accordance with appraisal competencies.

Knowledge, Skills & Qualifications:

  • Background and experience in mechanical or electrical engineering.
  • Organised and able to work to a plan.
  • Good communicator.
  • Must be able to fault find.
  • Neat and tidy writing.

Qualifications:

  • Full Driving Licence (Not essential).
  • Ideally GCSE level / NVQ level 1 or equivalent.
  • Satisfactory enhanced DBS disclosure.

Other:

  • Training will be provided on wheelchair engineering.
  • Trustworthy and possess a clean or appropriate DBS record.
