Rossall is embarking on a new era of sport as we seek to professionalise our coaching model in our focus sports of Football, Golf, Hockey, Cricket and Netball. We are proud to launch a bold and transformative step forward in our sporting provision, one that will redefine the experience, ambition, and opportunity available to every student, both locally and globally.
At the heart of this development is the introduction of a specialist coaching model across our major sports. From September 2026, football, hockey, cricket, golf, and netball will be led by dedicated, high-performance coaches with extensive expertise and a passion for developing young athletes. In football, our programme is strengthened through our link with Manchester City, bringing world-class methodology, coaching insight, and a global perspective aligned with one of the most progressive clubs in world football. This connection places our students within an international footballing framework, exposing them to elite standards, modern playing philosophies, and opportunities that extend far beyond the school environment.
The Performance Football Coach will deliver football coaching to all pupils on the Elite Rossall Football Programme and the Manchester City Football Programme. Main responsibilities include:
- Working under the Lead Football Coach in establishing the highest level of coaching and cultural standards on the Football Programme
- Leading on the lower school age group teams
- Taking part in Manchester City Modules
- Assisting on delivery of ILP’s
- Being available for Saturday, midweek and cup fixtures and training sessions as agreed with the Assistant Head (Director of Sport) at the commencement of each term
- Being involved in the boarding life of a busy independent school
The Performance Football Coach will work term time plus six weeks; 2 weeks of Michaelmas Pre-Season, 2 weeks of in-season tours and 2 weeks of Summer Camps. The salary is competitive depending on skills and experience.
