Site Manager - The Role
We're looking for a Site Manager to take day-to-day ownership of our brick and block packages on site. You'll run the gangs, keep the programme on track, and be the main point of contact for the main contractor on all things masonry. You'll report to the Project Manager.
Site Manager - What You'll Be Doing
- Managing bricklaying gangs and directly employed labour, including daily allocation and productivity
- Planning and sequencing brick and block works in line with the main contractor's programme
- Setting out and checking gauge, coursing, plumb, level and perpends before work progresses
- Inspecting cavity trays, DPCs, wall ties, insulation, cavity closers, wind posts and masonry support
- Ordering and coordinating materials to suit the programme
- Coordinating scaffold requirements, lifts and adaptations with the main contractor
- Running daily briefings, toolbox talks and pre-start meetings
- Enforcing safe systems of work, reviewing RAMS and carrying out site safety inspections
- Managing QA records and sign-off so units are handed over on time
- Tracking progress, flagging delays early and identifying variations
- Attending progress meetings with the client and main contractor
- Managing snagging and closing out defects before handover
Site Manager - What You'll Need
- Minimum 3 years' site management or supervisory experience with a masonry, brick and block or envelope contractor
- Strong technical knowledge of brick and block construction and cavity wall detailing
- Able to read and interpret construction drawings and setting-out information
- SMSTS (or SSSTS with willingness to complete SMSTS), CSCS card and First Aid at Work
- Working knowledge of NHBC standards
- Proven ability to manage labour on site
- Strong communication skills and the confidence to hold your own with main contractors
- Full driving licence

- Trade background in bricklaying
- Experience on high-volume residential or large commercial developments
- Temporary Works Coordinator training
- Scaffold Inspection training
