CNC Machinist – CAD/CAM

Location: Birmingham (B7)
Salary: £19-£22 per hour (dependant on experience)

About the Role

We are looking for a CNC Miller / Machinist with strong Hurco experience and a solid understanding of CNC programming logic for a precision engineering workshop in Birmingham.

This role is ideal for someone who knows their way around Hurco controls, can load and edit programs confidently, and has a technical mindset — someone who doesn\’t need hand-holding and gets the job done.

Key Responsibilities

• Program, set up and operate CNC milling machines (Hurco experience essential)
• Interpret engineering drawings and work to specification
• Use Fanuc and other controls confidently — the broader your control experience, the stronger your application
• Make informed decisions on program edits and tooling adjustments
• Work independently with responsibility and ownership of your work
• Maintain quality standards and clean workshop practices
• Collaborate effectively with the team

Skills & Experience

• Good CNC machining background
• Understanding of CNC programming logic — even if you\’re not writing every program from scratch
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or other CAD/CAM software beneficial
• Strong English communication — must understand instructions clearly
• Reliable, honest, and hardworking attitude
• Confidence to work on your own and with the team
