You will be responsible for machining complex precision-engineered components while maintaining the highest standards of quality, productivity, and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, set, and operate CNC turning centres with FANUC controls and driven tooling.
- Manufacture complex precision-engineered components to tight tolerances.
- Work confidently on medium to high-volume batch production.
- Interpret engineering drawings, job routings, and technical specifications.
- Set up and programme a wide range of turning and milling operations for both repeat and new components.
- Identify and implement best-practice machining methods, work holding solutions, and tooling strategies.
- Machine a variety of materials, including standard engineering grades and exotic alloys.
- Carry out in-process inspections using a range of measuring and inspection equipment.
- Ensure components meet customer specifications and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organised work environment.
- Work efficiently to meet production deadlines in a busy manufacturing setting.
Candidate Requirements
- Time-served apprenticeship preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years' CNC turning experience in a precision engineering environment.
- Fully competent in programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines.
- Strong understanding of FANUC controls and driven tooling.
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings.
- Experience machining a wide range of materials.
- Basic IT skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
