CNC Turner – Fanuc | Aerospace Precision

Location: Hayes area

Salary: £42,000 – £52,000 DOE

Shift Pattern: Days only | 4-day working week

About the Role

I’m recruiting on behalf of a well-established aerospace precision engineering business based in the Hayes area. Due to sustained growth and a strong forward order book, they’re looking to bring in an experienced CNC Turner to strengthen their turning department. This is a quality-driven environment, not a production sweatshop — ideal for someone who takes pride in machining to tight tolerances and working to aerospace standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • If you can, program either online or CAD/CAM -- Setting and operating CNC turning centres using Fanuc controls
  • Producing high-precision aerospace components to exact specifications
  • Working from detailed engineering drawings and tolerance requirements
  • Setting tools, adjusting offsets, and assisting with job prove-outs (depending on experience)
  • Carrying out in-process inspection using standard precision measuring equipment
  • Following documented quality procedures, traceability, and shop-floor controls
  • Maintaining excellent housekeeping, safety, and quality standards

What They’re Looking For

  • Solid background in CNC turning -- setting and operating within aerospace or similar high-precision industries
  • Strong working knowledge of Fanuc-controlled lathes
  • Confident reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Comfortable working to tight tolerances with a quality-first mindset
  • Able to work independently within a structured manufacturing environment

Desirable (Not Essential)

  • Experience programming on multi-axis / turning machines
  • Previous exposure to AS9100 or ISO-controlled environments
  • Willingness to progress onto more complex machinery over time
