The Company
My client designs, machines and manufactures complex tooling and precision components for a wide range of UK industries. Recent investment in an additional machining centres has expanded their capacity for larger, high-value parts.
The Role
- Program, set and operate live tooling lathes (Fanuc based Doosan).
- Produce low-volume, high-complexity parts to tight tolerances in a clean, well-equipped environment.
- Interpret drawings/3-D models and select optimal tooling, work-holding and machining strategies.
- Inspect your own work and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Work closely with engineering to optimise cycle times and quality.
What You’ll Need
- Proven experience as a CNC turner / CNC machinist, ideally programmer setting and operating CNC lathes.
- Confident in either conversational or at least editing programs; full training given to skilled setters/operators who want to step up to programming.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Experience as CNC turner for 5+ years.
- 3+ years experience as a CNC programmer setter.
- Apprenticeship served.
