My client designs, machines and manufactures complex tooling and precision components for a wide range of UK industries. Recent investment in an additional 5‑axis machining centre has expanded their capacity for larger, high‑value parts.
The Role
- Program, set and operate 3‑ to 5‑axis milling centres (Hurco, or Leadwell, or Doosan).
- Produce low‑volume, high‑complexity parts to tight tolerances in a clean, well‑equipped environment.
- Interpret drawings/3‑D models and select optimal tooling, work‑holding and machining strategies.
- Inspect your own work and contribute to continuous improvement.
- Work closely with engineering to optimise cycle times and quality.
What You'll Need
- Proven experience as a CNC machinist, ideally programmer setting and operating CNC milling machines.
- Confident in either conversational or offline; full training given to skilled setters/operators who want to step up to programming.
- Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment.
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- 5‑axis experience and CAD/CAM programming.
- Experience as a CNC machinist for 5+ years.
- 3+ years experience as a CNC programmer setter.
