The predicted salary is between 13 - 16 £ per hour.

Salary: Competitive hourly rate + overtime + benefits (DOE)

Hours: optional hours between 39-45 hrs per week, day shift

My client designs, machines and manufactures complex tooling and precision components for a wide range of UK industries. Recent investment in an additional 5‑axis machining centre has expanded their capacity for larger, high‑value parts.

The Role

  • Program, set and operate 3‑ to 5‑axis milling centres (Hurco, or Leadwell, or Doosan).
  • Produce low‑volume, high‑complexity parts to tight tolerances in a clean, well‑equipped environment.
  • Interpret drawings/3‑D models and select optimal tooling, work‑holding and machining strategies.
  • Inspect your own work and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Work closely with engineering to optimise cycle times and quality.

What You'll Need

  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist, ideally programmer setting and operating CNC milling machines.
  • Confident in either conversational or offline; full training given to skilled setters/operators who want to step up to programming.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and use measuring equipment.
  • Right to work in the UK.

Desirable

  • 5‑axis experience and CAD/CAM programming.
  • Experience as a CNC machinist for 5+ years.
  • 3+ years experience as a CNC programmer setter.
