Job Summary

To complete day to day aspects of the project consultancy process to client deadlines through performing to the Company’s technical duties, processes and standards based on national codes and guidance. Assist the project leads and represent the Company on projects with periodic quality review by Senior Engineers, Associates, Associate Principals and Directors.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Review plans and produce mark-ups to advise the design team on any non-compliances as well as possibilities for the improvement of the layouts by applying fire engineering.
  • Write detailed fire strategies.
  • Undertake zone modelling and CFD modelling. Produce the reports and present the findings to the client and design team.
  • Adequately communicate their thoughts and ideas to other staff, professionals and clients in verbal and written form.
  • Act professionally with all parties on the clients work to develop the company’s reputation.
  • Achieve continued professional development in areas relevant to the achievement of personal objectives and as a contribution to those of the company.
  • Contribute to the development of the company to enhance its reputation.

  • Total Client satisfaction with service delivered.
  • Timely delivery of work to Company quality and profit requirements.
  • Production of fire strategy / CFD reports.
  • Expand work related knowledge.
  • Study to meet CPD objectives and develop towards the ultimate achievement of Chartered Fire Engineer and Member of the Institution of Fire Engineering.
  • Accurate delivery of work.
  • Timely delivery of the quantity of work set by supervisor.
  • Quality targets met in accordance with Company standards.
  • Expand work related knowledge and demonstration of continuous learning.

Key Skills

  • Engineering degree (does not need to be in Fire Engineering but it would be beneficial or Masters Degree’s in Mechanical or Aerospace space engineering).
  • Effective Team member, i.e. works well with others.
  • Technically competent.
  • Construction Process Aware.
  • The technical and educational competence to evidence that the candidate will be able to be developed to complete zone and CFD modelling.
  • Creative thinker able to develop innovative solutions to complex technical problems.
  • Good Communicator.
  • Team focused approach to working.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • A keen interest in sustainability.
  • Confidence to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • An analytical and organised mind.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft’s Office Suite.
