Your new role
We have an exciting opportunity for a People Advisor to join our HR team in a generalist role, supporting the Quality function across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular focus on employee relations casework. This role will also involve managing HR systems and data, producing reports as required, ensuring best practice and full compliance with employee legislation.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Providing expert, pragmatic, HR advice to managers and employees on a wide range of people matters, including performance, conduct, absence, and employee relations.
- Manage employee relations cases from end to end.
- Proactively identifying and resolving people-related issues.
- Driving a culture of accountability across teams within the business, particularly those that are newly established or experiencing growth.
- Managing aspects of reward processes, ensuring pay increases and bonus payments are implemented fairly, consistently, and on time.
- Supporting the preparation of monthly payroll.
- Contributing to the delivery of the business’s People Strategy through involvement in project-related work and continuous improvement activities.
About you
- Experience of working in a HR Advisory role, managing ER cases.
- A solid understanding of UK employment legislation.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven ability to influence and maintain effective relationships with all internal staff.
- A high level of emotional intelligence with the ability to understand complexity and exercise sound judgement.
- Exceptional verbal, written and active listening communication skills.
- A positive and solutions focussed mindset, using sound judgement to navigate complex situations.
- Excellent data and reporting skills.
- Strong team player, with a willingness to learn and share knowledge with the wider HR team.
Desirable skills
- Prior experience within a manufacturing and/or life sciences environment.
- Experience working in a rapidly scaling organisation.
- Experience with managing skilled worker visas and immigration processes.
Qualifications
- CIPD Qualification, or a willingness to work towards this qualification.
