Rosie & Jim are a family-owned business based in Ireland that produce premium quality breaded chicken products for Retail and Foodservice markets across Ireland, Germany and the UK. Our products are widely recognized for their exceptional taste and eat quality, and boast multiple health claims, Gluten Free among others. A favorite for those with Coeliac Disease and wheat intolerance, we also enjoy strong sales with mainstream consumers who recognize our superior taste and quality. Our product range includes Chicken Kiev, Goujons, Chunks and Shredded Chicken, all of which are produced from our Dublin factory where we employ a close-knit team of 80+ employees.

The Opportunity: Rosie & Jim are enjoying strong UK sales growth within Food Service channels through customers such as Costco, Central Foods and regional distributors. We are in discussions with the leading national distributors with a view to fulfilling product requests from Education and the NHS. To realise the enormous sales potential in the UK for our branded premium products we require an energetic Business Development Manager to follow through on the multiple sales leads in progress and use their initiative to open up the many similar opportunities that exist.
The Role: The Business Development Manager will work with our IRL based Business Sales Manager to develop new sales across the UK via all channels targeted by the business.
- Work on targets set out by the Business Sales Manager across wholesale and foodservice contacts to develop profitable business with these customers.
- Build relationships with key customers, existing and new, to maximise sales opportunities with these accounts.
- Scope out additional wholesale or buying groups suitable for Rosie & Jim and develop a plan to deliver profitable business and evaluate the ongoing performance via these customers.
- Negotiate and implement joint business plans with strategic partners/buying groups in agreement with the Business Sales Manager to grow the Rosie & Jim brand sustainably.
- Ensure structured pricing for all sectors remains in place, as provided by the business.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of UK sales including account management and new business. Liaise with the business head office in all aspects of your day-to-day role.
- Positively position the Rosie & Jim brand as the number 1 choice for Food service and wholesale sector contacts when sourcing Gluten Free or Non-Gluten Free Breaded Chicken.
- Work with key customers to drive distribution, brand awareness, and participate in their trade activity to deliver growth e.g. tradeshows, meet the buyer events.
- Jointly own, with the business sales manager, forecasting and business plans for all customers in your territory.
- Support the Business sales manager in any ongoing activity with UK customers.
- Use company CRM system to record all customer activity existing and new, load new business prospects and always maintain up to date records.
- Provide weekly/monthly reports as set out by the business sales manager in time frames requested in an agreed format.
- Attend, when requested, meetings/events in Ireland or at the head office in Dublin.
- Attend any events requested by the business in the interest of development of the UK business.

- Confident, organised, with excellent rapport-building communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong commercial skills and ability to document P&L.
- Excellent commercial acumen and proven new business hunter.
- Excellent IT, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint Skills.
- Excellent presentation, attention to detail and communication skills.
- Proven track record of sales and account management.
- Degree level or equivalent qualification.
