This is a full-time, on-site Pharmacy Dispenser role based in Allostock. The Pharmacy Dispenser will assist in the safe and accurate dispensing of prescription medications under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

  • Receiving and interpreting prescriptions, preparing and labeling medications, and supporting any necessary compounding activities in line with company and regulatory standards.
  • Maintaining stock levels, checking expiry dates, and ensuring the dispensary area is clean, organized, and compliant with all safety and quality procedures.
  • Providing courteous, informed customer service by answering basic medication-related queries, processing sales, and directing clinical questions to the pharmacist as needed.
  • Collaboration with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow and a positive experience for patients and customers.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and interpret prescriptions, and check details to support safe dispensing processes.
  • Prepare and label medications in line with prescriptions and regulatory standards.
  • Support compounding activities where applicable and ensure compliance with established protocols.
  • Maintain stock levels, check expiry dates, and manage inventory for the dispensary.
  • Keep the dispensary area clean, organized, and compliant with safety and quality procedures.
  • Provide courteous, informed customer service by answering medication-related queries and processing sales.
  • Direct clinical questions to the pharmacist as needed and collaborate with pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, and other team members to ensure efficient workflow.

Qualifications

  • Practical knowledge of pharmacy operations and medication handling, including working within a dispensary environment.
  • Experience with prescriptions, including interpreting prescription information, checking details, and supporting safe dispensing processes.
  • Ability to work effectively alongside pharmacy technicians and other healthcare team members in a structured, compliance-focused setting.
  • Strong customer service skills, with a professional, respectful, and clear communication style when assisting patients and customers.
  • Familiarity with basic compounding procedures and safe preparation of medicines, following established protocols and guidance.
  • Attention to detail, good numerical and data-entry skills, and the ability to follow standard operating procedures consistently.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is preferred; relevant vocational training or certification in pharmacy dispensing is an advantage.
  • Reliable, organized, and able to work on-site full time in Allostock, including flexibility to cover peak hours as required.
