We are currently looking for a Director of Engineering to join our senior leadership team at Rosewood London. The Director of Engineering is entrusted with overseeing all areas and associates of the Engineering operation in terms of both planned preventative and reactive maintenance, to the building fabric and all associated services of the entire hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the efficient and safe operation of all plant, equipment, ancillary maintenance and repairs towards protection of the property asset including structural aspects of the building.
  • Provides advice to senior management on all aspects of engineering support, environmental best practices and controls the operational efficiency of the property.
  • Responsible for the general cost control aspects of maintenance, the preparation of departmental cost budgets and their implementation and submission to management.
  • Ensures the quality of all work completed by both associates and external contracted associate adheres to the standards of good engineering practice, and that all safety rules are consistently applied.
  • Manages the life safety installations, maintenance and periodic testing/inspections to ensure full compliance at all times.
  • Performs routine and emergency assignments in accordance with established hotel procedures to provide guests and employee safety.
  • Effectively manages all Engineering associates to maximise productivity and minimise costs in compliance with current hotel policies.
  • Acts as a coach and mentor to your team to ensure high engagement levels, people development and highest associate retention to strengthen the company culture.
  • Proactively attracts and selects talent for the department in line with company procedures and culture.

Profile

  • Experience at a senior managerial level within a large luxury hotel environment.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading an engineering function with a proven track record in strategic engineering leadership delivering effective strategies, policies, processes and systems.
  • A good understanding of leading and developing people effectively.
  • Possesses an analytical mindset and base decisions on available data.
  • Proven strategic project management and delegation skills.
  • Experience managing complex budgets including capital expenditure.
